Daniels of Talbot County, Georgia
William Daniel, born 1745 in South Carolina, died 1836 and was married in 1772 to Elizabeth Skinner (born in Virginia). The State of birth of William Daniel is established by Thomas Daniel on the 1880 Covington County, Alabama Census. They had issue:
- Theophilus Daniel, died 10/24/1803 in Butler County (now Crenshaw County, Alabama) buried in the Simmerly Cemetery.
- Elizabeth Daniel.
- William Daniel, died after 1860 in Terrell County, Georgia.
- Frances Marion Daniel, born 1/5/1788 in North Carolina, died 5/3/1856 in Butler County, Alabama, buried in Dry Cemetery, Crenshaw County, Alabama.
- Abel Daniel, born 4/15/1788 in South Carolina, died 8/4/1883 in Webster County, Georgia, buried in the William C. Daniel Cemetery in Weston. Wife, Elizabeth, was born 1793 in South Carolina. They were listed on the 1880 Webster County, Georgia Census.
- Thomas Daniel, born 12/24/1794 in South Carolina, died after 1880 in Red Level, Covington County, Alabama. Granddaughter, Medora Jones, age 24, listed with him on the 1880 Census of Covington County, Alabama.
- Kenoth Daniel born 1794/1804.
- Young Daniel, born 9/15/1795 in South Carolina, died 4/27/1851. He located his plantation near Prattsburg in Talbot County, Georgia adjoining that of Rev. Zackariah Stearns (1790-1886). He was married to Martha Brown on 9/20/1824 in Baldwin County. Another proof of Martha's identity is the Last Will and Testament of Catherine Brown probated 11/4/1844 in Talbot County, wherein she named her daughter Martha Daniel, wife of Young Daniel. After Young's death, the widow continued to manage the plantation which had been divided under the guidance of Daniel W. Ray, overseer. Mrs. Daniel was guardian for Malinda, Josephine A. and John R. Daniel, minors, and her son, Thomas H. Daniel, aged 21, was given $14,800 of personal estates. Martha's tombstone indicates that she was born on 11/7/1806 in Hancock County and died 6/18/1870. Known issue:
- William Young Daniel died 1/6/1834, aged 3 years, 5 months.
- John Ross Daniel, born 7/20/1845, died Eatonton, Georgia on 9/11/1860.
- Josephine A. Daniel married Hillary F. Mathews on 10/11/1864.
- Ephraim Daniel died after 1850.
- Elizabeth Daniel, born 8/6/1802, died 11/8/1882 in Dallas County, Arkansas, buried McDonald Cemetery, Ramsey, Arkansas.
