D'Antignac
Louis Jean Baptist Chamberon D'Antignac m. on 14 Oct 1793 in Edisto, Orangeburg County, South Carolina, Hannah DuBose. They removed to Georgia where John D'Antignac (anglicized) served as a J. P. in Warren County (witnessed a deed dated 1807 from Joseph Hutchinson to Henry Hardin) and was later listed on the 1820 Richmond Co., Ga. Census. He was deceased by 1830, because only his wife, Hannah D'Antignac, and his son, William, were listed on the Richmond Co. Census. Issue:
- William M. D'Antignac was born 1809 in Georgia m. Mary Ann C. Harris (b. 1814 Ga) on 7 Feb 1828 in Columbia Co., Ga. Mary Ann C. was named in the LWT of her mother, Juriah Harris (1784-1868), in Richmond County, Ga. Issue:
- Mary D'Antignac b. 1836 Georgia.
- Harris H. D'Antignac b. 1837 Georgia.
- Virginia D'Antignac b. 1839 Georgia.
- William M. D'Antignac b. 1841 Georgia.
- Auvargene D'Antignac (son) b. 1843 Georgia.
- Clara L. D'Antignac b. 1845 Georgia.
- Francis H. D'Antignac b. 1847 Georgia.
- Sophie D'Antignac b. 1850 Georgia.
- John A. D'Antignac m. Eliza Thorne on 1 Jan 1804 in Columbia Co., Ga., and drew in the 1827 Georgia Land Lottery. In 1807, Winnifred Jenkins made a nun-cupative will, and left Elizabeth D' Antignac, the works and felling for a riding habit. (Columbia County)
Note of Interest: The reminiscenses of a Ninety-Year old lady published in the Augusta Chronicle (and The Constitution, Atlanta, Georgia on 23 Mar 1885) remembering when she moved to Augusta from Virginia in 1818.... "The D'Antignac house was the only house of importance above Jackson street at that time, and is one of the oldest brick houses in the city."
