Crosson of Virginia & Lincoln County
John Crosson, Revolutionary War Soldier, born in Pennsylvania in 1756, and died on 28 January 1838. He married on 3 July 1788 in Fauquier County, Virginia, Acsah Lewis, born 8 February 1769, died 21 January 1853. Issue:[1]
- Lewis Crosson, born 1777, resident of Arkansas.
- Mary Crosson married Mr. Jackson, born 1780, resident of Stewart County.
- Elizabeth Crosson, born 1782, married Isham Rozier.
- Peninah Crosson, born 1784, married Thomas Trammell of Benton County, Arkansas.
- James Crosson, born 1785, resident of Arkansas.
- Field Crosson, born 1788, resident of Lincoln County, Georgia, later Stewart County. He was the administrator of the estate of his mother.
Sources: [1] Revolutionary War Pension W6766, Georgia, Lincoln County, dated 14 February 1842 of Acsah (or Scksah) Lewis, the widow of John Crosson. She said that he was on the 1818 Pension Roll; and that he served as a private in the Company of Colonel Stewart, Pennsylvania Line, 13th Pennsylvania Regiment. That he enlisted in Vincent Township, Pennsylvania in 1776 serving under Captains Tolbert and Pew, and was in the battles of Brandywine, White Plains, Germantown, and Monmouth; that he died at the age of 82, on 28 January 1838.
