CRAWFORD of Virginia and Georgia
Charles Crawford, Revolutionary War Soldier, resided in Columbia County, Georgia, was b. 23 Dec 1738 in Hanover Co., Virginia, d. 1813 m. Jane Maxwell, who was b. 24 Jul 1740 Hanover Co., Virginia, died 11 Nov 1814. He came to Georgia as a boy, at the beginning of the Revolutionary War. He served as Captain, and was in the siege of Savannah, and was taken prisoner at Augusta. His LWT dated 27 Sept 1811, probated 4 Jan 1814, Columbia Co., Ga. Charles Crawford, Esquire purchased 287- 1/2 acres for 10 pds. from Timothy Lee and Rachael, his wife, on 16 Sept 1793, Columbia County, being part of a 927-acre tract granted to the firm of Crawford & Lee on 14 Nov 1787.

- Anderson Crawford was b. 14 Apr 1764. A Columbia Co. deed dated 19 April 1794, Anderson Crawford and his wife, Rachael, deed to William Binton, Sr. for 150 pds., 600 acres on Little River.
- Nathan Crawford, physician and planter, was born 21 December 1775 in Hanover County, Virginia, died 5 October 1861. his LWT dated 26 Mar 1860, probated Nov 1861, Columbia Co., Ga. In 1799, he settled on Kiokee Creek in Richmond County, at the residence of Rev. Abraham Marshall. He married 1st, Mary Marshall, the daughter of Levi and Sarah (Wynne) Marshall. He married 2nd, Rebecca Hamilton, the wife of James Hamilton, in Columbia Co. on 25 Sept 1843. Issue:
