Conner of Virginia & Bibb County
Zephaniah Turner Conner, the son of Uriel Conner and his wife, Nancy (Nalle) Conner, was born 1809 in Virginia, shortly after his family arrived from Ireland. He removed to Bibb County around 1835. He served as a Lieutenant and Adjutant in County, 4., Confederate Regiment, Volunteer Infantry, Independent Volunteers of Bibb County His detachment fought mostly in Tennessee. He was later appointed Lt. Colonel of the 12th Regiment, Georgia Infantry on 7/2/1861; appointed Colonel later that year. He was cashiered in 1862 or 1865, and died in Macon, Georgia in 1866. During 1850 Zephaniah had a substantial slave holding of nine. His issue: [1]

- Granville Conner, born 1837, married Frances Ayres (born 1847 Georgia), the daughter of the wealthy cotton planter, Asher Ayres, who left a fortune in Land and stocks to his children. They family resided in Macon. Issue:
