Collier of Virginia; Oglethorpe & Monroe Counties
Vines Collier, Revolutionary War Soldier, was born in Brunswick County, Virginia. He fought on the Virginia Line, and received bounty grants in Georgia. He married Elizabeth Williamson, the daughter of Benjamin Williamson of Virginia, in 1760. His LWT dated 11 September 1795, probated 11 December 1795 in Oglethorpe County, named all of his children. His grave is located in County Road 150, about one-mile East of its intersection with State Highway 22, and is on the north side of the road, in the edge of a pasture, in Oglethorpe County. [1]

- Isaac Collier, was born 6 June 1769 in Brunswick County, Virginia, died 1848 in Upson County, Georgia. He was Clerk of the Inferior Court of Oglethorpe County. He married Elizabeth Smith. His LWT dated 1 September 1845, probated 4 September 1848 in Upson County, named his wife, Elizabeth M. and their children:

The LWT of John Hardeman dated 1 February 1804, probated 21 September 1804 in Oglethorpe County named his wife, Nancy, and children: Thomas, John, Robert Vines, and Ben Franklin Hardeman. - Vines Collier, Jr., born 1777 married Dorothy (Molly) Rafferty on 24 December 1805 in Oglethorpe County. His LWT dated 6 October 1829, probated 5 May 1830 in Oglethorpe County, named wife Dorothy, giving her the entire estate.

- Mary (Polley) Collier married (1) Hardin and (2) Edward W. Powell on 23 July 1812 in Oglethorpe County. Edward Powell, his LWT dated 21 July 1801, probated 5 February 1802 in Oglethorpe County. He left land on Long Creek which was purchased from Nathaniel Willis to be sold to pay debts. Wife, Mary, to get balance of the estate. Executors: Mary Powell, John Powell, and John Hardeman. Wit: Cuthbert Collier, Benjamin Collier and Thomas Lester. Her son, John Powell, his LWT dated 18 January 1816, probated 20 May 1816, Oglethorpe County, left Viney, his wife, all of the estate. Wit: Isaac Collier, Vines Collier, Peterson Smith.
- Cuthbert Collier was born 1772, died 20 April 1845 in Monroe County. He married Rebecca, born 9 September 1787 in Virginia, died 25 October 1872 in Monroe County. They are buried in the Collier Cemetery, Monroe County. He married (1) Nancy Dickey on 13 December 1803 in Oglethorpe County, and, (2) Rebecca Franklin on 10 January 1816 in Oglethorpe County. The LWT of Cuthbert Collier dated 1 June 1838, probated 11 June 1845, Monroe County, names wife, Rebecca, and their children; as well as his nephew, Hardaway Collier. Issue:
