CLOWER of Pennsylvania & Gwinnett County, Georgia
George Clower was born 1735 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and married Elizabeth Morgan (about 1759), the sister of General Daniel Morgan, Revolutionary Soldier of Virginia.
The family first moved to Rowan County, North Carolina. Several of his sons came to Georgia from Pennsylvania, viz: George Clower, John Clower, and Daniel Clower. Clower.
I. George Clower, Revolutionary War Soldier, left Pennsylvania to Jasper County, Georgia (formerly Wilkinson County). He enlisted in the war while a resident of Orange County, North Carolina. He married Mary Sular in Berks Co., Pennsylvania. He died in Bibb County, Alabama.
II. Daniel Clower was born July 18, 1762 in Berks County, Pennsylvania, died Gwinnett County, Georgia on September 30, 1842. His grave was marked by the Atlanta Chapter of the D. A. R. He enlisted in the Revolutionary War while a resident of Orange County, North Carolina, later drawing a pension for his services (1835, in Gwinnett County). After the war, he became a Methodist Preacher and resided first in Orange County, North Carolina before removing to Greene County, finally to Gwinnett County. A deed dated 3/17/1791, Greene Co. Deed Book 1, pp. 586-7, of Daniel Clower of Orange County, North Carolina to Abner Mitchel of Greene County, Georgia, for 100 pds., 200 acres in Greene County on the Ogeechee River, it being the tract upon which William Colbert now lives, which tract was granted to said Clower on 6/27/1786.
A. Sarah Clower was born 1787, married John Moorman Venable of Jackson County, Georgia and had ten children.
B. Elizabeth Clower, died young.

D. John Clower was born 1794, married in 1816 Nancy Winn, and had ten children.
E. Nancy Clower was born 1799, married in 1824, John W. Stell.
F. Jane Clower was born in 1802, married George Witherspoon.
G. Daniel Clower, Jr. was born 1805, married Parthenia Carter Brandon.
H. Mary Clower was born 1807, married John Brown.
I. Searcy Clower, died young.
III. Jonathan Clowers was born December 3, 1763 in Berks County, Pennsylvania, died September 18, 1836 in Bibb County, Alabama.
IV. John Clower was born 1765 in Pennsylvania, died March 1816 in Morgan County, Georgia.
V. Michael Clower was born 1769, lived in Meriwether County, Georgia.
VI. Jacob Clower was born 1771, lived Orange County, North Carolina.
VII. Peter Clower was born 1773, lived Orange County, North Carolina.
VIII. Catherine Clower was born June 4, 1775, died 1858 in Gadsden, Alabama.
IX. William Clower was born 1780 in Pennsylvania, died September 6, 1832 Jefferson County, Maryland.
X. Jesse Clower was born 1785, lived Orange County, North Carolina.
