Cleveland of Virginia, South Carolina & Franklin County



Reverend John Cleveland, son of John Cleveland, was born at Clevelands Ferry on the Tugaloo River in South Carolina. He was born ca 1720, died at the age of 91 years. He married Mary or Mollie McCann (died Cleveland Ferry before 1809). He was a baptist clergyman who left Virginia ca 1772 and removed to North Carolina with his brother, Larkin Cleveland. The family then removed to Pickens District, South Carolina, and were numbered among its first settlers. Several of the sons went West. Issue:[1]
