Buttrill of Virginia; Coweta, Heard & Jasper Counties

William Buttrill was born 20 February 1763, n Virginia, a Revolutionary War Soldier who served under General Nathaniel Greene. After the war he lived in Cumberland County, North Carolina where most of his children were born. He married Mary Williams, daughter of Burwell Williams of North Carolina, Revolutionary War Soldier. About 1812-1813 the family removed to Jasper County, Georgia.[1] Issue:

Nancy Buttrill, born 19 December 1794 in North Carolina, married Dr. Jesse George, lived Coweta County in 1830 and was listed on the 1840-1850 Heard County Census.
Thomas Buttrill, born 23 October 1796, died 22 March 1875 in Heard County, married Lurana A. Bonner, lived Troup County. In 1830, removed to Heard County Buried at Jackson Cemetery, Heard County.
Elizabeth Buttrill, born ca 1797 in North Carolina, married John Barnett. SEE Barnett.
William Buttrill, Jr., born ca 1798 in North Carolina, married Ann Smith Alston, removed to Texas.
Burwell Williams Buttrill, born 8 June 1807, died 1894 in Heard County.
Asa Buttrill, born 10 June 1810, married Lucille J. Manly, died in Butts County in 1893.
Britain Buttrill, born 20 April 1812 in Georgia married .(1) Louisa Hudson 92) Ruth Emerline McCord. Died in Upshur County, Texas.
Jesse Buttrill, born ca 1816, never married.
