Edgefield County Deed Book 4, pp. 71, 80. 2/15/1790. Richard Johnson, Jr. and Mary, his wife, of Edgefield County, to Moody Burt of Augusta for 1000 pounds, sold 300 acres, being part of three tracts. One. 200 acres, 50 acres of which was part of a grant to said Richard Johnson joining the other land that was granted to Mary Buffington on 9/27/1769, on Turkey Creek and bounded Northwest by Benjamin Garrott and all other sides vacant at survey. Two. 50 acres by Garrott, Robert Burts and Northwest by Buffington's tract. Three. 50 acres being part of a tract held by Moses Kirkland and sold under the Act of Confiscation and purchased by said Richard Johnson. Wit: Moody Burt, Jr., Stephen Evans.
