BUCHANAN
It "appears" to me that Samuel Buchanan was one of the minor children of Robert Buchanan who died 1809 in Baldwin Co., and his wife, Sarah. I searched through all of the estate papers for the names of the children. Unfortunately, Baldwin Co. does not have its early guardianship papers - that's what we need - that will provide the names of the children. I was unable to locate anything on the mother, Sarah. She didn't name the children in her LWT either. After Sarah's death in 1825, it may be that all her children removed to Alabama. She had a son, Robert which she named in her LWT of 1825. I am wondering if part of her estate ended up in the recorfds in Conecuh Co., Alabama.
Baldwin Co. had a fire in 1861, and its deed records were destroyed, however, I was able to view other early records.
I notice that The Buchanans also lived in Jasper (Baldwin taken from it), and Greene Counties. These counties probably be researched next. In 1820 Census, in Jasper Co. were: George, James and John.
