Governor Joseph M. Brown will retire from office Saturday and will return to Marietta at four o'clock Saturday afternoon. The people of Marietta and Cobb County, without regard to political affiliations, have planned to give the governor a most cordial welcome home: The reception will be absolutely devoid of everything except the general desire to show respect and friendship for a citizen who has honored the county and for whom there is a deep feeling of good will. That Governor Brown will continue to make Marietta his home is a source of gratification, especially to those who know him intimately and to the many friends of his family generally. The governor has already taken up his abode in his Marietta home and has fitted up in a building on the place a large library in which he expects to do a considerable amount of literary work.
