Boykin of Virginia & Burke County
Edward Boykin (1698-1770) was a son of Edward Boykin of Charing Cross (born 1650 Kent County, England, died 27 May 1728 Isle of Wight County, Virginia married Ann Gwaltney, born 20 May 1696 Surry County, Virginia, died 24 February 1728 Isle of Wight County, Virginia, the daughter of William Gwaltney and Alice Flake).
Solomon Boykin, was born 1702 in the Isle of Wight County, Virginia, died 1771 in the parish of St. George Parish (Burke County), Georgia. He was the only son of Edward Boykin who removed to Georgia, making his home on Beaver Dam Creek in present-day Burke County. To his wife, Esther, he bequeathed the plantation of 300 acres during her lifetime, then to go to son, Solomon, after her death. Son, Hardy was left 150 acres on Beaver Dam in the parish of St. George; Jesse, 200 acres on Briar Creek adjoining lands of John Wells.
