He was married 1785 in Bulloch County, Georgia to Mary Cook (1769-1847), a daughter of James Cook and his wife, Margaret Lucile (Hawthorne) Cook. Their issue: Elizabeth Bennett, born 1783 in Effingham County; William Bennett, born 1786 in Effingham County; Henry Bennett, born 1789 in Robeson County, North Carolina, died 1835 in Bryan County, Georgia; Elizabeth Bennett, born 1797 in Bulloch County, Georgia; Wiley Bennett, born 1800 in Bryan County; and Braxton Bennett, born 3/18/1808 in Bryan County, died 4/3/1881 in Gardi, Wayne County, Georgia.
Braxton Bennett, born 3/18/1808, died 4/3/1881 was married 1st. 6/1847 in Wayne County, Georgia to Elizabeth Westbury, buried Flint Baptist Church Cemetery, Wayne County and was married secondly to Mary Hopps. Issue:
- Daniel Hopps Bennett, born 5/5/1848 in Wayne County, died 12/27/1907 in Wayne County, buried in the Jesup City Cemetery, Jesup, Georgia.
- Rachel Bennett, born 10/29/1849 in Wayne County, Georgia, died 3/26/1938 in Hastings, St. Johns County, Florida.
