Bellah of Morgan and Greene Counties, Georgia
The first known Bellah was John Ballagh from County Antrim, Ireland who died on November 8, 1717 in Charles Towne, South Carolina. He had issue:
William Ballagh who was born in County Antrim, Ireland, and died December 3, 1739 in Berkeley County, South Carolina. He married Mary on April 1, 1692, and they had three known children, viz: John Ballagh, Elizabeth Ballagh, and William Ballagh (died April 11, 1740 in Charles Town, South Carolina, Christ Church Parish).
William Ballagh, died April 11, 1740 Charles Towne, South Carolina, was married to Mary Brittain on April 18, 1722, Christ Church Parish Register, Charles Towne, South Carolina. They had issue: Moses Bellah, born August 16, 1732, Marmaduke Ballagh, born June 7, 1738, and Catharine Ballagh, born August 30, 1735.
Moses Bellah was born August 16, 1732 in Berkeley, South Carolina. Issue:
- Walter Bellah, born ca 1760 in Rowan County, North Carolina, died 1812 in Smith County, Tennessee.
- Comfort Bellah, died March 11, 1843 in White County, Illinois.
- Moses Bellah, born March 14, 1758 in Rowan County, North Carolina, died July 19, 1828 in Rutherford County, Tennessee.
- Samuel Bellah, Revolutionary War Soldier, was born March 14, 1752, Rowan County, North Carolina, and died 1833 in Morgan County, Georgia. His LWT is filed in Morgan County (Book A, 1814-1830).

Samuel Bellah was listed as a Justice of the Peace in Greene County in 1797, according to his signature on various other deed transactions. He was one of the appraisers of the Estate of William Allen, deceased, dated January 13, 1795, Greene County. He was also an appraiser of the Estate of William Hodge, deceased, March 18, 1794, Greene County. Return filed by Samuel Bellah, administrator of the Estate of William Rhodes, deceased, July 1828, a negro sold to Samuel Bellow, Butts Co. Return for Legatees dated January 14, 1830 include legatees: James Rhodes, Harriet Rhodes, Nancy Rhodes, William Rhodes, Benjamin Rhodes, Josiah Rhodes.
He served as a private in the North Carolina Line. On July 18, 1776 he married Jane Morgan. Issue:
