William R. Barwick was born ca 1730 in Antrim, Ireland and died after 1800 in Darlington County, South Carolina. He was married to Elizabeth Manning of Dobbs County, North Carolina. William R. Barwick was a Revolutionary War Soldier, serving in the Dobbs County, North Carolina Colonial Miltia. They had issue: Joshua (died after 1800 in Lenoir County, North Carolina, listed on the 1780 Dobbs County Tax List as owning land from Kinston West, North of the Neuse River; John, born 1769, resident of Dobbs County, North Carolina and William (1750-1807).

William Barwick was born 1750 in Johnston Co., North Carolina, died 8/31/1807 in Darlington, South Carolina. His Last Will and Testament was proved by his son, Noel Barwick. He was married to Elizabeth Phillips of Dobbs County, North Carolina by whom he had fifteen children from whom most of the Barwicks in Georgia and Florida descend. William was a Revolutionary War soldier and served in the Dobbs County, NC Militia from late 1770s to early 1780s. The first clear record of William, Jr in the revolution is his appearnce with his father and brother, Joshua whose names appeared on the 1777 roster of Kennedy's Company of the Dobbs Militia. After the war, William and Elizabeth moved their family and William's parents to the Cheraw Dist (later Darlington Co), SC abt 1785. William was first granted land in the Cheraw District in 1786. Nathan Barwick's obituary stated that Nathan moved with his parents to SC when he was a boy. Since Nathan was born in 1782, the move would have occurred betw 1782 and 1786. William appeared with Elizabeth on both the 1790 and 1890 census. William died Aug 31, 1807 when he gave a nuncupative will proven by affidavits of James Herron, John Register and Jame Griffin and sworn before John Mixon, Jr. Elizabeth died in Darlington Dist, SC until her death in 1820. She was listed as head of household on both the 1810 and 1820 census. Issue:

He was married on 6/21/1810 in Darlington County to Elizabeth Whiddon, born 1790 in South Carolina, died 4/17/1875 in Emanuel County, buried in the Barwick Cemetery. Issue:

   • Lott Barwick, born 4/3/1813 in Darlington, South Carolina, died 5/25/1893, buried in the old Bethlehem Cemetery. Lott is listed on the 1880 Emanuel County Census, District 59, as a farmer, parents born in South Carolina. He was widowed and had residing with him his son, Lucien and his wife, Lizzie, as well as a grandaughter, Estell Barwick. His LWT dated 11/18/1882 in Emanuel County. Wife, Elizabeth, was born 1816. He was married to Elizabeth Rouuntree (born 1/18/1816, died 4/17/1875, buried Old Bethel Cemetery, Emanuel Co.) on 1/29/1855 in Laurens County, Georgia. Elizabeth was a daughter of George Rountree and his wife, Louvenia (Neel) Rountree. Issue:
