BALDWIN of Terrell County
Moses H. Baldwin was born ca 1814 in Bibb County, Georgia. Moses was left an orphan at the age of 10. He was engaged in business with an elder brother until 1830, when he removed to Randolph County where he married Elizabeth Miller in 1841. In 1850 he moved to Terrell County, in the town of Dawson. His residence was the first one in the town of Dawson. He was successful in his enterprises, and owned over 100 slaves. He died in Dawson in 1885, aged 71 years. Elizabeth died 3 January 1894, aged 72 years. Issue:
- Martha E. Baldwin married R. T. Spearman, died in Virginia during the Civil War, a captain of the Panola Rifles of Dawson. She later married R. T. Harper of Atlanta, where she died.
- John Wiley Baldwin.
- Andrew Jackson Baldwin, twin brother to William R. Baldwin, merchant and manufacturer in Dawson, was born near Cuthbert, Randolph County, in 1847. He married in 1871 Miss A. E. Crouch, daughter of John H. Crouch, of Butler, Taylor County, Georgia, where she was born. Issue:
