Bacon of Liberty County
Michael Bacon was born ca 1670, migrated from England to Pennsylvania, to Charlestown, Massachusetts then to Dorchester, South Carolina, were the founders of the movement in Liberty Co., Georgia Michael died 1733. He married Joanna Way (born ca 1673).

- Sarah Bacon, born May 4, 1702 Dorchester, S. C., died August 29, 1769 Liberty Co., Georgia, married Peter Goulding.
- Samuel Bacon was granted in 1752, 500 acres of land on the Midway River, bounded by lands of Kenneth Baillee, Esquire. A son, Joseph, died 4 January 1762, buried Midway Cemetery.
- William Bacon, received a Land Grant on October 7, 1766 of 71 acres in St. John's Parish.
- Joseph Bacon, was born 1715, was a planter in St. John's Parish, Liberty Co., wife, Mary. His Last Will and Testament dated 12 July 1764, probated 28 February 1765, gave wife, Mary, use of plantation and 150 adjoining acres, also five negro slaves, I. E., Tirah, Navo, Will, Came and Robe, which were to be distributed between his children at the death of his wife. Grandchildren: John Golden, Peter Golden, William Golden, Abel Golden. To his son, John, he left the plantation on which John now lives, also 280 acres adjoining land. His 140 acres, near Dorchester, S. C. was to be sold to pay debts. Joseph's LWT named his brothers, Samuel Bacon and William Baker, executors. Issue:

- William Bacon petitioned for 300 acres in St. Andrew's Parish on July 2, 1771 on Dogwood Swamp, stating that he had a wife and fourteen slaves, but that he only had 71 acres to cultivate.
- Rebecca Bacon married Thomas Quarterman, Puritan, of Sunbury, Georgia, on 29 November 1757.
Another Family: Thomas Bacon, Sr. was born 1743 in South Carolina, died 26 January 1812 in Liberty Co., Georgia He married 1st, on 7 June 1770 at Midway Church, Catherine Winn who died 4 January 1778 and married 2nd on 1 June 1778, Sarah Baker, and married 3rd, 1779, Martha Wheeler in Carolina. In August of 1771 he petitioned for 500 acres of land on Little Mortar, stating that he had a wife and eleven slaves at that time. Also, on the same date, he petitioned for 300 acres in St. Andrew's Parish. Issue:

- Thomas Bacon married 1st, Elizabeth Sumner on 26 February 1801, Liberty County, 2nd, Sarah Holcombe in 1810, Liberty County. Miss Elizabeth Sumner was the daughter of Thomas and Anna Sumner, born September 17, 1783, died May 1, 1809 in Liberty Co. They lived at Midway.
