John Appling of Columbia Co. Ga. married Martha, her LWT dtd 9 Oct 1788, probated 19 Aug 1790 Columbia Co., Ga. Rev. War Soldier. Wilkes Co. DB EE, p. 131. John Appling of Richmond Co. deeds James Garrett 500 acres on Sherrill's Creek, Little River, 2/6/1790. Columbia Co. Deed dated 4 Jan 1796, James Ross and his wife, Anne, deed to John Appling, Esq., 200 acres of land for $250.00, located on the north fork of the Great Kiokee Creek, commonly called Greenbriar, bounded by said Ross, John Upton, Richard Upton, Sherwood Bugg and Lud Williams.

Another Columbia Co. Deed, 29 June 1797, John Appling deeded Patrick Carten for 42 half dollars, 21-1/2 acres adj. said Carten, being part of a tract granted to John Walton on 7 Feb 1775.

III. William Appling married Patsy Dorsett 27 Mar 1794 Columbia Co., dau. of John and Eleanor Dorsett. His LWT dtd 8 Oct 1803, probated 19 Dec 1804 Columbia Co. Clarke Co. Gdns Bonds. John Nunnally, guardian of William Appling. orph. of William. dtd 2 Nov 1818. Columbia Co. deed 4 Dec 1800, Anne Dorsett, George Naylor, William Appling and wife, Martha, sell 100 acres purchased by John Dorsett. Sr. from William Ford to John Dorsett, Jr., inherited by above heirs from est. of John and Eleanor Dorsett, decd. Columbia Co. Deed dated 5/7/1801, Patrick Carter to Nathaniel Crawford, one acre near the Columbia County Court House and the Academy "being part of the land where William Appling lives". Issue of William Appling: Walter Aristo; Otho H. m. Jane W. Brown 11 Oct 1815 Clarke Co. Ga.; and William m. Elizabeth Loyal 13 Oct 1808 Clarke Co., Ga.

IV. John Appling. Colonel, m. Elizabeth Dorsett Naylor 9/21/1797 in Columbia Co., Ga.. John Appling's LWT dated 6 Nov 1809, probated 4 Dec 1809 named his wife, Eleanor and children. Issue: Daniel, David, and Rebecca C. m. Charles D. Stewart 9/20/1835 Columbia Co., Ga.

V. Thomas Appling of Wilkes Co., his LWT dtd 19 Mar 1800, probated 21 Jul 1810 Wilkes Co. names issue as follows:
