ALLISON of Greene County, Georgia
John Allison died 1822 in Wilkes County, his LWT dated 10 January 1822, probated 4 March 1822, Wilkes Will Book HH (1819-1839). On 4 March 1822 his LWT was probated, and David Allison qualified as executor. The final division of his estate mentioned two sons, ALexander and William. Issue:
I. Alexander Allison. Greene County Deed Book AA, page 697, Jacob Watts sold to Alexander Allison of Greene County, on 9 December 1803, for $1200 land in Greene County on Richland Creek, land originally granted Barnes Holloway on 10 January 1787. Wit: Robert Allison.
II. William Allison.
III. David Allison, born 1785 in North Carolina, died 1834 in Morgan County, Georgia, married Matilda. LWT of David Allison, Morgan Co. Will Book A, p. 77, dated 8 August 1832, probated 3 November 1834, named wife, Matilda, as executrix, and heir. He l eft $1,000 to his friend, Francis Mison. The LWT of John Gibson, dated 11 April 1826, probated 6 February 1827, Taliaferro County, Book A, page 41-42, named daughter, Matilda Allison. David Allison, executor. Witness: Robert Allison.
IV. Jesse Allison of Troup County.
V. Gwyn Allison, born 1802 in North Carolina, died 1865 Greene County. LWT of Gwyn Allison dated 29 April 1865, probated 5 September 1865, Greene County, left his brothers $3,000 each, viz: John, Jesse, Reuben, and William. To his son, David, he left $2000 and a negro boy, William. Issue:
A. David Allison, teacher.
VI. Reuben Allison married on 7 July 1836 Louisianna King, in Greene County.
VII. John Allison of Morgan County.
VIII. Robert Allison, born 1793 in North Carolina, died 1861 Greene County, Georgia. His LWT, Greene County Will Book G, page 249, dated 16 December 1858, probated 3 December 1861, named brother: Gwyn Allison, $9,000 and negro, Edmond, about 23 years old; brother, Reuben Allison, $1,000; brother, John Allison of Morgan County; and Jesse Allison of Troup County. William L. Strain, executor.
IX. Alfred Allison, died 1835 Greene County. LWT of Alfred Allison dated 13 June 1835, probated 10 July 1835, Greene County, left his brother, Robert Allison $1,000 to be paid to him "when the note I hold on Maxwell Mosley is collected". Also named brothers: John, Alexander, William, Jesse, Reuben, and Gwyn.
