History of Stewart County, Vol. II, by Sara R. Dixon and A. H. Clark:
"Samuel Adams III is said to have a sister, Maria and brother, Harmon, the latter marrying Sarah, the daughter of McDaniel Oliver. In 1826 Harmon an Samuel Adams were on the tax Digest in Capt. Tysons district of Twiggs County. In 1835 Samuel and Harmon Adams had lands in Township 12, Range 26, Section 17, Barbour County, Alabama."
The Indian troubles of the mid 1830s probably drew the Adams brothers out of Barbour County. In 1850, Samuel and Eliza Oliver Adams removed from Stewart County to Ashley County, Arkansas where they appeared on the 1830-1870 Census. All fourtreen of their children were born in Georgia. Issue:[1]
