Oglethorpe wrote the Trustees that Samuel Perkins had resigned his office of 2nd bailiff and he had given it to Mr. Thomas Marriot, son of Capt. Marriot. He was known as a passionate weak man, resigned at Moore's persuasian, owes 600 pd. to storekeepers and others, and yet his wife must go in silk.
