Davis, Arthur, Sr., aged 94 years of age, the father of 18 children, eight boys and ten girls by his first wife, none by his last. He was married twice. Three times twins were born to them. Thomas, the eldest son, now living. Arthur J., the second son, is the father of seven boys and seven girls. Mathias, the third son, has eight boys and one girl, all living. Isham, the fourth, has three girls and four boys, all living. Daughters: Mrs. Fannie GIllis, Mrs. Bethany Spivey, Mrs. Annie GIllis, Mrs. Eliza Phillips, Mrs. Mrtha Beacham (now dead), the last two were twins, Mrs. Mary Smith, Mrs. Julia Adams (twin sister to Isham). Dillashaw, Eliza, who lives five miles below Gainesville, in Hall County, is now 105 years of age. She draws a pension, her husband being a soldier in the War of 1812. Ref: The Constitution, Atlanta, 11 June 1889

McCoy, son, born. Father: Robert McCoy, one of oldest citizens of Burke Co., 81 years old. His second wife, aged 45. Mr. McCoy's youngest child by his first wife is now 39 years of age.
