Annual Returns stated that he died in the fall of 1831. Also a letter written in 1857 by Mary E. Gearns from Shelby Co., Tennessee; she wrote that her mother, Sina Littleton, was a sister to James Wadlington; writing regarding settlement of the estate.

Micajah Buchanan, pp. 500-502. 5 Jan 1829: 14 Nov 1831. To son, Thomas, 100 acres where I now live granted to Harmon Geiger. The division as follows - between him, Clary and Drucilla. Thomas Buchanon to be the part down the river west to W. Hentz. The balanace of the tract where I now live granted to said Geiger, adjoins Thomas Dawkins and George Mitts, to be equally divided between Clary and Drucilla. Neither of them to sell their lands except to the legatees herein mentioned. Each of said daughters to have bed and furniture. My son, Thomas, to pay Mildred Crooks $200 and Elizabeth Sonter $200 and have 4 years to pay the money. Exr: Son, Thomas Buchanan and son-in-law, George Sonter.
