Wadlington of Newberry County
Major James Wadlington was born 10 April 1782 and died 31 Oct 1834 in Newberry County, buried in the Bauskett Graveyard near Enoree Baptist Church. He was the son of William Wadlington and the grandson of Thomas Wadlington, Sr. Major Wadlington had a sister, Sina Littleton as discovered in the Annual Returns of his estate in a letter written in 1857 by Mary E. Gearns of Shelby County, Tennessee inquiring as to whether James Wadlington had left any children to inherit the estate. He was married on 1 June 1820 to Ann Bauskett and they had two children, viz:
- Thomas Bauskett Wadlington, born 25 May 1821, died 10 Dec 1882, buried in the Bauskett Graveyard. He was married on 23 April 1844 to Harriet Sondley. He was a resident of Caldwell, South Carolina and widowed according to the 1880 census.
- Caroline J. Wadlington, born 19 Nov 1831, died 4 May 1862, married on 25 Jan 1853 Colonel Ellison S. Keitt.
