Sadler of Anderson County


Richard Sadler had two known children, viz: David Sadler (below) and Elizabeth Sadler, born 7 Nov 1769 in York County, South Carolina, died 14 Dec 1839 in York County, buried in the Bethesda Churchyard, York County, South Carolina.

David Sadler, the son of Richard Sadler, was born 31 Aug 1762 in York County, Pennsylvania and died 13 Feb 1848 in Anderson County, South Carolina. He was married in 1785 to Elsie Bratton who died in Anderson County on 22 Nov 1825, buried in the Roberts Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Anderson, South Carolina. Elsie was the daughter of Colonel William Bratton, born 1740, died 1815 in Brattonsville, York District, South Carolina and his wife, Martha (Robertson) Bratton. Issue:
Pendleton District Deed Bk A, pp. 290-292. 20 April 1791. Richard Sadler of Abbeville County to Matthew Alexander of Pendleton District for 300 pds., 185 acres, being part of a tract granted 6 Feb 1786 on the north side of Broadmouth Creek and the southside of the Saluda River.
