Pardue of Edgefield County



The first known of the family was in Isle of Wight County, Virginia. John Pardue, born 1711 in Henrico County, Virginia, died 1769, married Sarah Adams and had issue.
Pendleton District, S. C. Deed Bk 3, pp. 84, 87. 18 Apr 1789, William Covington, Sheriff of Edgefield County, deeded to James Coody for 15 pds., 90 acres on Horns Creek bounded by land of Drury Sims, Edith Coody's third, John Pounds and Burrell Johnson. Whereas, Lewis Coody, deceased, became indebted to Adam Perdue for 34 pds 14 sh. and whereas, Adam Perdue obtained a judgment against the estate of Lewis Coody 10 Oct 1788.

Deed Bk 3, pp. 87, 90. 18 Apr 1789. William Covington, sheriff of Edgefield County to James Coody for 5 pds., sold 12 acres of land on Horn's Creek bounded by Edith Coodys, Willeby Tillery, Henry Parkman and land least unto Morris Pardue. Whereas, Adam Pardue having impleaded the administrators of the said Lewis Coody, deceased, in Court of Common Pleas for the recovery of 34 pds. 14 sh. in 1788.
