Nelson of Greenville County
Elisha Nelson was born ca 1755 in North Carolina, died 1829 in Greenville District, South Carolina. He purchased 373 acres of land in the Greenville District on 4 June 1789. Served during the Revolutionary War from Sullivan and Washington Counties, North Carolina. After the war he removed to South Carolina. When he died, a Writ of Partition listed eight children. Issue:
- Elisha Nelson, born Greenville, South Carolina 1 Aug 1795, died in Union County, Arkansas on 30 Nov 1865, married 5 Oct 1813 in Greenville Jane Brasher(born 11 April 1795 in Greenville County, died 13 Jan 1884 in Union County, Arkansas). Issue:
- Thorisa Nelson born 15 Jul 1815 in Greenville County, died 11 Jul 1905 in Union County, Arkansas.
- Elizabeth Nelson born Shelby County, Alabama 16 Feb 1818, died Collinsville, Texas on 15 Nov 1890.
- Silveneis Nelson, born 29 June 1820, died 30 Aug 1820 in Shelby County, Alabama.
- Simpson Nelson, born 19 June 1822 in Shelby County, Alabama, died 16 Sept 1889 in Union Parish, Louisiana.
- Francis A. Nelson, born 25 Dec 1824, died 4 May 1897 in Shelby County, Alabama.
- Hardy Nelson, born 13 Nov 1827, died 28 June 1901 in Shelby County, Alabama.
- Henry B. Nelson, born 5 May 1830 in Shelby County, Alabama, killed 1863 during the seige of Vicksburg.
- Willian Daniel Nelson, born 16 Mar 1833 in Shelby County, Alabama, died Union County, Arkansas 22 Aug 1867.
- Ellender Paralee Nelson, born 13 Apr 1835 in Shelby County, Alabama, died 18 Jan 1918 in Dallas, Texas.
