McKinney of Greenville County, South Carolina

James McKinney of Mush Creek was born 8 September 1792 and died 30 May 1861 in Greenville County, on Mush Creek, in the Tay= lor-McKinney Cemetery.[1] His wife, Susan, born 1800, died 10 November 1876, buried same cemetery. The 1850 census reflects that Jane Taylor resided with them. Issue:[2]

• Alexander McKinney, born 17 September 1821, died 28 July 1848, buried same cemetery.
• Mary McKinney, 14 May-1824-15 December 1836, buried same cemetery.
• William McKinney, born 1820 South Carolina married (1) Rebecca (1830-10-31-1850). Rebecca buried same cemetery. He married (2) Mary J. (born 1824 in South Carolina). In 1880, the name of the wife was Nancey J. (born 1826) which I belive to be the same person as Mary J. (Mary was sometimes called "Nancy") . They lived in Bates, South Carolina.
