Mangum of Newberry County

William Mangum Sr. was born 12 Nov 1756 in Albemarle Parish, Surry County, Virginia and died 5 July 1827 on Bush River Mountain in Newberry County, South Carolina when his estate was probated. Widow, Anna, died in 1848. He was the son of John and Mary Mangum. Issue:

• Nancy Mangum married William Peterson.
• Daniel Mangum was born 24 May 1788, died 25 May 1852 in Newberry County, married in Newberry County in 1808 Malinda Reeder (7/19/1788-1/18/1863), a daughter of Thomas Reeder and his wife, Elizabeth (Cole) Reeder.
• William Mangum married Isabella Hopper who died leaving one child, Francis Marion Mangum.
• John Mangum.
• James Mangum died 1825. Issue: James F. Mangum.
• Peggy Mangum married James Neal.
• Jemima Mangum married (1) Charles Griffin, son of John K. Griffin by whom she had one child and (2) Joseph Johnson.
• Edna Mangum married John Frederick Glenn, son of John Glenn. John Frederick died 24 April 1834. Issue: William G., James F., and Daniel C. Glenn.
• Rebecca Mangum married Jesse Newman.
