Thomas Knighton of Fairfield District, South Carolina, planter, deeded to Samuel Knighton of same, 278 acres on Dutchmans Creek and Taylors Creek on 2 February 1825. (Fairfield Deed Book FF, page 254). Also, in Deed Book FF, page 254, 1 February 1824, Thomas Knighton, Sr. conveys to Moses Knighton of Fairfield District, 477 1/21 acres on Taylors Creek, on the Wateree River. Deed Book CC, page 70-74, Margaret Rochell conveyed to Thomas Knighton of Fairfield District land on Dutchmans Creek dated 3 March 1810. Deed Book AA, page 102, 24 May 1811, Thomas Watts sold to Thomas Knighton of Fairfield County, 8 acres on the land of Margaret Rochell..
The LWT of Thomas Knighton, dated 8 December 1825, probated 23 August 1828 named wife, Jane, and children: Jane, Milly, Samuel, Moses, Thomas, Elizabeth, the wife of Noah Hornsby, Susannah, the wife of Jonathan Mickle, Judith, the wife of Greenberry Montgomery of Chester District. Thomas Knighton, Sr. conveyed to his son, Samuel, land on Dutchmans Creek, as well as Negroes, horse, etc.; also leaves his grandson, Thomas Knighton (son of Samuel), one horse bolt. (Fairfield Co. Deed Book CC, page 348-9, 16 February 1822). Issue:[1]

- Samuel M. Knighton was born 1786 in Fairfield Distrct, South Carolina. "State of South Carolina, Fairfield County. Whereas Samuel Knighton is about to remove from this State and it is necessary that some person should be authorized to attend to his interest in the suit. "(Lawsuit in Court of Common Please for Fairfield District, South Carolina, James Rochelle, plaintiff, vs. Peter Hollis and Samuel Knighton, defendants (Fairfield County Deed Book HH2, page 97, recorded 23 March 1830). Issue:
- Samuel Ewing Knighton, born 11 October 1825, died 28 December 1901 in Randolph County. He married on 30 October 1851, Clementine Lewis (born 24 January 1836 in Stewart County, died 30 July 1914 in Randolph County), the daughter of William Lewis and his wife, Ascenith (Stevenson) Lewis. Issue:
- Georgia Knighton, born 20 March 1866 Randolph County, died 20 December 1958 in Lumpkin, Georgia. She married on 30 May 1897 Samuel Jackson Robinson, the son of Samuel Robinson and his wife, Mary A.
- Moses Knighton. "South Carolina, Fairfield County. I do hereby certify that I have resurveyed and measured for Moses Knighton part of sundry adjoining tracts of land, all within the red lines, except the small square in the northwest corner, containing 577-1/2 acres, situate in district of Fairfield on Taylors Creek, waters of Wateree River. 17 February 1824." /s/Abner Ferguson. (Fairfield County Deed Book FF, page 254. "South Carolina, Fairfield County. Know all men by these presents that I, Peter Knighton and James Knighton have granted all that plantation containing 244 acres in consideration of $265 to us in hand paid by Moses Knighton, it being the whole right and claim of land left by our father to us." (Fairfield County Deed Book Q, page 279). In Deed Book CC, page 125, Moses Knighton to Samuel Knighton, 549 acres on Taylors Creek, Wateree River, "being part of said tract originally granted to Josiah Knighton and the other part to Charles Picketts conveyed from the said Knighton and Pickets to Thomas Knighton, Sr. to Moses Knighton, Jr. 31 March 1821." (Picket to Knighton in Deed Book K, page 220, dated 1796). Moses Knighton was listed in Fairfield County on the 1790 Census. His LWT probated 16 April 1795 in Fairfield County Will Book 2, page 93, named wife, Susannah and children, viz.

- Thomas Knighton was born 1788 in South Carolina, farmer. Wife, Jane, born 1800 in Georgia, residents of Randolph County, Georgia in 1850. Issue:

- Sarah Knighton, born 1830 in Florida.
- Mary Knighton, born 1832 in Florida.
- Joseph Knighton, born 1834 in Florida.
