Floyd Family

General Charles Floyd, the son of Samuel Floyd and Susan Dixon, was born in Northampton County, Virginia on 4 Mar 1747. In 1768 he was married to Mary Fendin on Green Island in South Carolina. Mary was born 15 April 1747, died in Bellevue, Camden County, Georgia on 18 September 1804. Colonel Charles Floyd died there on 9 September 1820. During the Revolutionary War General Floyd enrolled in a company known as the Liberty Boys; was captured and carried onboard an English prison ship which was in the Savannah harbor. The had only one child, viz:

General John Floyd, born 3 Oct 1767 on Hilton Head Island in Beaufort County, South Carolina, married 12 Dec 1793 Isabella Maria Hazzard. General Floyd served in the War of 1812 and in the Indian wars.
