Ferguson of Edgefield County
Joseph E. Ferguson was born 1824 in South Carolina and died 6 May 1864. He was married to Sara Garrett (1832-early 1900), the
daughter of Thomas Jefferson Garrett (1808-1876) and Eliza Lesley Trawick. The Fergusons resided on a farm several miles
southeast of Dawson, Georgia. Joseph enlisted in Co. K, 27th GA Regt in February of 1863 and was killed during the
Battle of the Wilderness. Issue:

- John T. Ferguson, born 1853.
- William Franklin Ferguson, born 1856.
- James Anthony Ferguson, born 1859, married Ada Chambless.
- Martha Elizabeth Ferguson, born 1861.
- Joseph B. Ferguson, born 26 March 1853, died 8 Jan 1930.
