Thomas Drayton, a son of Thomas Drayton and his wife, Elizabeth (Carpenter) Drayton,
was born ca 1650 in England and died May 1717 in Charleston, South Carolina. He was married at. St. Boltolphs at Bishopgate
Parish in London on 20 Aug 1675 to Anne Fox. They immigrated to Charleston ca 1680 and established a large plantation overlooking
the Ashley River. Issue:
- John Drayton, born ca 1678, died 1798 at Drayton Hall.
- Stephen Fox Drayton, died 22 Feb 1732 at Drayton Hall.
- Mary Drayton, died 27 Feb 1749 at Drayton Hall.
- Thomas Drayton, born 1683, died 1760 at Drayton Hall. He was married on 26 Dec 1730 at Drayton Hall to Elizabeth Bull, a daughter of William Bull and
his wife, Mary (Quintayne) Bull. Issue:

- William Drayton, born 21 Mar 1732 at Drayton Hall, died 18 May 1790, Charleston, South Carolina.

Drayton Hall was built ca 1738 and is the oldest preserved plantation house in America that is open to the public.
This plantation was built by John Drayton on the Ashley River and was passed down through the family for seven generations.
