John Douthitt, son of Robert Andrew Douthitt, was born 9 May 1709 in Coleraine, Londonderry, Ireland and died 22 Feb 1784 in Rowan County, North Carolina (now Forsyth County), the date of his Last Will and Testament. He was married to Mary Scott on 12 Jan 1738 in Monocacy, Frederick County, Maryland. Mary was chr. 13 June 1721 in Pennsylvania and died 29 Jun 1794 in Hope, Rowan County, North Carolina. The couple was buried in the Old Hope Cemetery near Clemons, North Carolina. Issue:
