Brailsford of Charleston
Edward Brailsford was born 1690 in Lincolnshire, England and removed to Charleston, South Carolina where he was married to Bridget Morton, a daughter of John Morton. Issue:

- Edward Brailsford, born ca 1724 in Charleston.
- John Brailsford, born ca 1726 in Charleston, of Charleston, the Parish of St. Paul's, Covent Garden, gentleman, died Feb of 1752. To his wife, Sarah, he bequeathed the rents and profits of all of his estate during her widowhood including his share of his father's books. Mentions a possible unborn child. To Mrs. Sarah Middleton, widow, Henry Middleton and John Morton, Esq. he bequeathed all of his estate in South Carolina and Great Britain in trust for his wife. Exrs: Hon. - Samuel Brailsford, born 1728 in Charleston, died 26 June 1800 in Charleston. He was married in St. Philips Parish in Charleston on 7 April 1750 to Elizabeth Holmes. Samuel and Elizabeth had a son, William Brailsford, who was born 1767 in Charleston, and died 8 April 1837 in Darien, McIntosh County where he had established a substantial rice plantation located on Hwy 17 near Darien which he called Brailsford, later renamed Broadfield. The plantation was bequeathed to his daughter Camilla Brailsford, born 1804 in McIntosh County and died 9 Sept 1847 at Baisdens Bluff, married Dr. James Troup (1784-4/25/1849).
