Perkins of Lincoln County


Hardin C. Perkins was born ca 1811 in North Carolina and died ca 1887 in Henderson County, Texas. He was buried in an unmarked grae in the Fincastle cemetery. Hardin and Catherine removed from North Carolina ca 1834 or 1835 and went to Habersham County, Georgia where they resided between 1838 and 1840. They settled in Dahlonega, Georgia (Lumpkin County) but removed from there ca 1853, going first to Tennessee, then to Texas. Hardin married his first wife, Catherine (Shields?) ca 1831 in North Carolina and they had at least twelve children from this marriage. Catherine died during the early 1860s and was probably buried in an unmarked grave in the Gann Cemetery in Angelina County, Texas. Issue of first marriage: Hardin married second, Mrs. Margaret M. Franks Hopkins in Henderson County, Texas on 4 Aug 1866 and had by her three children, viz:
