Patterson of Caswell County


David Patterson of Goochland County, Virginia settled in New Kent County where his children's births were registered in St. Peters Parish, as follows: Sarah, chr. 24 Mar 1699; Anne, chr. 2 Nov 1701; David, chr. 14 Oct 1705; Thomas, born 13 Dec 1708 (died 1746); Charles, born 6 May 1711 (died 1738); Jonathan, born 6 June 1713 (died 1774 in Lunenburg County); Frances, born 19 Dec 1715; Obadiah, born 28 Feb 1717; Gideon, born 7 Jul 1720; James, born 10 Feb 1722; Anne, born 15 Mar 1724; Gideon Patterson, born 7 Jul 1720 in St. Peters Parish, New Kent County, Virginia, was the son of David Patterson of Goochland County, Virginia.

Gideon settled in Caswell County before 1782. On 18 Sep 1782 his son, Gideon Patterson, Jr. of Caswell County deeded to his father 440 acres of land on the Flat River, adjoining Adams and Rosemary Creeks, adjoning David Mitchell and William Hill. Gideon Sr. died in 1803, his Last Will and Testament dated July of 1803 and naming only his son, Gideon, Jr.
