Padgett of North Carolina; South Carolina; Emanuel and Jefferson Counties
William Paget, Padget, the son of Edward Paget of Chowan County, North Carolina and his wife, Margaret (Tyner) Padget, was born 1720 in Chowan County, and died 1768 in Colleton County, South Carolina. He was married to Sarah Blitchenden (born 14 January 1716 in Perquimans County, North Carolina, died after 1790 in Bladen County, North Carolina), the daughter of Thomas Blitchenden, Sr. and his wife, Mary (Norcom) Blitchenden. - Elijah Padgett, born ca 1742 in North Carolina, died 1807 in Jefferson County, Georgia. He was first a resident of Jefferson County, later of Emanuel County. Upon the application of, accompanied with a copy of a bond given by John Padgett, deceased by which John Padgett bound himself unto Elijah Padgett for $300.00 to make titles to a certain tract of land, 160 acres, adjoining William Padgett, and the said John Padgett having departed this life without complying; it is ordered that Lewis Deal, executor of the LWT of John Padgett should make title to land according to said bond.

The LWT of Elijah Padgett dated 5 July 1805, probated 6 July 1807 in Jefferson County Will Book A, page 66, bequeathed to son, Warren Padgett, a lot and building in Louisville. Also named son, Moses and daughter, Susannah Robinson. Executors: Elisha Padgett, John Bryan. Wit: Simon Smith, William Padgett, John Bryan. The Inventory and Appraisement of the Estate of Elijah Padgett was dated 31 August 1807, Jefferson County Inventories, Book B, page 191-195.

- Warren Padgett. He was a minor at the time of the death of his father. Elisha Padgett,
guardian, made an Annual Return "in account with said minor" on 1 June 1815, Jefferson County.
- Moses Padgett, born ca 1800. He married Sarah Robinson. Issue:
John Robinson Padgett, born 22 January 1822 in Fayette County, died 21 September 1896.
- Susannah Padgett married Mr. Robinson.
- James Jefferson Padgett. Bill to change the name of James Jefferson Shuffield to James Jefferson Padgett and legitimize him as an heir of Elijah Padgett of Randolph County, Georgia. 1853.[2]
- Elijah Padgett married Winney Hall on 27 June 1815 in Jefferson County.
- Job Padgett, died 1838 in Edgefield County, South Carolina.
- Joel Padgett, died in Bartholomew Parish, Colleton County, South Carolina
- Jacob Padgett, died St. Bartholomew Parish, Colleton County, South Carolina.
- Josiah Padgett, born 1750 in North Carolina, died 1810 in Edgefield County, South Carolina, buried in the Padgett Family Cemetery.
