- JESSE LANE was b. 7/3/1733 Halifax Co., N. C., removed to Georgia about 1784. He m. Winifred Aycock, b. 4/11/1741, d. 1794 Clarke County, Georgia, in 1755, a daughter of William Aycock and his wife, Rebecca Pace. Jesse was an officer in the Revolutionary War, and served with his son, John Lane, in the Battle of Kings Mountain, N. C. He lived in Oglethorpe Co., then Jackson Co., finally Clarke Co. where ie died in 1806. Issue:

Memoirs of Georgia, published 1895, Henry Lane was Methodist Minister who came to Ga. the latter part of 1700s and settled in Coweta Co., then Heard, finally move to Ala. Listed on 1815 Clarke Co. Tax Digest, 1820 Morgan Co. Census, 2830 Newton Co. Census and 1840 Heard Co. Census, 1850 Newton Co., Ga. Census. He had two sons born between 1810 and 1820, three daus. born between 1804 and 1810, and one son born between 1804 and 1810. Memoirs of Georgia refers to a son, Collingsworth Lane, b. in 1819. Ane of his sons, William D. Lane, named his father, Henry Lane, in his LWT in Newton Co.
