Joseph Evans resided in Currituck County, North Carolina before the Revolutionary War, where he died in 1796, leaving a Last Will and Testament naming his wife, Anne, and sons, viz: John and Joseph Evans.
John Evans, Revolutionary War Soldier, was born 1757/1758 in Powell's Point in Currituck County, North Carolina where he enlisted in the war. He made an application for a pention on 8 Dec 1835 in Putnam County, Illinois. The affidavit of B. M. Hayes, formerly a Sheriff of Putnam County, swore that said Evans resided in Currituck County, North Carolina and he knew that he was a soldier. Pension rejected.
