Smartt Cemetery
Location: 1-1/2 miles beyond W. B. T. Radio Station on Nation Ford Road. Take first dirt road to the left through Kirkpatrick place to Pineville water line. Cemetery is on the right in a wooded area surrounded by a five foot stone wall.
George White Smartt "One of the Representatives in the General Assembly of this State who died at his seat in the Mecklenberg County on the sixteenth of May, 1809. The death of this truly worthy man will be lamented long by his friends and neighbors. He left an amiable wife and two children to mourn the loss of a husband and most indulgent of fathers."George White Smartt 3 Aug. 1764-May 1810
