Thomas, George Dudley, Professor, "is a native of Athens, the son of Colonel Stevens Thomas, one of Athens's most honored and respected citizens. When quite young he entered the University of Georgia, and in 1877 graduated from the law school. In 1882 his eminent ability as a rising attorney recommended him as the proper man to be called to a professorship in the law school of the university, and he was elected to that position, which he has filled most acceptably. He is one of the counsel for the Richmond and Danville railroad and enjoys an immense practice.
