History of Dalton Female College, Dalton, Georgia

In 1848, Dalton Female College was founded by Mr. Duff Green and others. In 1863, when General Braxton Bragg was retreating from his defeat in Chattanooga, he made the college his winter quarters. The college was not incorporated until 1874.
