I know that you think it might be James; however, I researched Hancock Co. thoroughly and find no evidence.  James must have been a son of Isaac because he was one of the administrators of the estate 11/3/1834 (Hancock Co. Minute Book 1817-1837), page 785.  Isaac’s wife may have been Frances, widowed, aged 80, born NC (1850 Hancock Co. Census).  James drew in the 1827 LL, but it was land in Coweta Co.

Nathan is a suspect to be the father of Thomas, as he was age 80, born in NC, wife Elizabeth, age 74, born in SC (1850 Hancock Co. Census)

What I wanted to find is a Youngblood who drew land in Lee County from the 1827 Land Lottery.  This was the parent county for Marion, Thomas, Schley.  So, when someone drew Lee County, after Lee was split up, they could be in any of those counties.  The only Youngbloods who drew Lee Co. lands were:  Green Youngblood of Hancock County (he was born ca 1800 and on 1850 Hancock Co. Census), H. D. Youngblood of Monroe Co. and Peter Youngblood of Jackson Co.  I do not have access to the Thomas Co. deeds, but they might help locate some information.

Research in Progress.

Comments:  One early Youngblood family came to Georgia from Edgefield County, SC and smidgets of information is found in Columbia County.  Richmond County is also considered because some mention of them there.

If the Carroll Co. marriage record is yours, then your family must have settled around the western portion of the State before moving south; perhaps your William is the one found on 1850 Meriwether County Census.  If this is the case, then they may have drawn the south Georgia land in the 1827 Land Lottery.

Thank you Jeannette.  I don't see any other Carroll wills that I need.  I sincerely appreciate the assistance.

I hope you don't mind if I submit another request.. I had emailed through the site sometime during the summer months, a genealogy that I needed help with.  I am not sure that you received it.  I didn't see it posted in the working "papers" section.  Here is the info again - if you are still helping in this manner:

**********************

I am researching my family history and reached a stopping point on William F. Youngblood born around 1820 in Georgia. He is on the 1870 and 1880 Thomas Co Georgia Census with his wife Sara.

William's children were: James (abt 1855), Sarah (abt 1856), Thomas (abt 1858), Ross (abt 1864), Frances M (1867-1927), George (abt 1869), Daisy (she married Albert Shenton) and Guy (abt 1877-1952).

I am descended through Frances M. Youngblood. Francis M and his wife Winnie lived around south Georgia and North Florida for the majority of their lives.

***************************************************

Through my research, I have come to possibly believe that William was the son of James Youngblood (hancock co, GA), the ages are about right..  but I have not been able to validate it.  I also have been unable to locate any

marriage record for William Youngblood and a Sara.    I did find a marriage

certificate in Carroll Co, Georgia for a Youngblood (no first name) and a Sara McGinnis.  This certainly makes validation difficult!!

Any help that you might be able to provide would be GREATLY appreciated.

Your site has been wonderful and I have found lots of good information.

I rescan this will at the end of next week and send you a copy.  Sorry about the inconvenience, the site was recently moved to another hosting company and I have not finished checking the links.  Carroll wills have been updated.  If there is another will you want re=scanned, please advise so I can get it at the same time.

Subject: Trouble with site

Jeannette,

My name is Sally Judah and I am a subscriber to Georgia Pioneers website.  I am getting "page not found" error messages when attempting to access individual wills and other items on the web site.  I am not sure if there is a problem with my account?

Also - Is there anyway to have the will for Ephram Jackson (Carroll County) re-scanned?  It is very blurry and I cannot read it.  We have tried everything trying to make it clear enough to read, but have not been successful.

Please let me know if there is something I need to do regarding the ability to access some of the files on the site.

Thanks!

Sally Judah
