Wadsworth

I am a subscriber and I need help with this line.....and this brick wall.....thanks for your offer for a free research. Good luck! The ones I know for certain; John Wadsworth born 1802 and died around 1880 and his wife Martha Toler born about 1802 died around 1880 and forward is fine. I have been told that the father of John Wadsworth born 1802 is Ignatious Wadsworth, possibly Ignatious Wadsworth, Jr. This Ignatious was born around circa 1775 in NC and I can't find who he married at first and next, etc. I think his father is Ignatious Wadsworth of Craven County who died in 1806 and left a will identifying an Ignatious Wadsworth, JR.

Children of John Wadsworth and Martha Toler I have everything on John and Martha going forward, I just have very little on Ignatious born cira 1775 who I believe is the father of John Wadsworth born 1802 abd died after 1880 in maybe Chambers County, Al

I have search for Ignatius Wadsworth throughout Georgia, particularly in Houston, Bibb and Crawford Counties. Nothing discovered for Ignatius. There is, however, a deed in Crawford County of one, Melcher Wadsworth dated 1839 where he sold 202 1/2 acres in the First District of originally Houston County, now Crawford County, lot No. 139. deed. This is a land lottery draw amd Melcher Wadsworth resided in Bibb County at its making. I see where you have Hiram Wadsworth drawing Lot No. 65 in Houston County, 5th dist., third section. However, could not find the original drawer of Melcher' deed. Melcher Wadsworth was listed on the 1850 Henry County, Alabama Census, page 431. (I do not have access to Alabama records).

Sources: (these appeared to be descendants of the Craven County NC families, and were in Georgia before yours.

Conclusion. I took a particularly long time on this project because I wanted to make certain that there was (or was not) any further records on Ignatius Wadsworth. Owing to his age, however, it appears that he should be buried in Crawford County, but also could have gone to Alabama. I examined the published cemetery records in Crawford, Houston, Bibb, Pike, Harris and Jones counties. Hope this helps, but the avenue of last research appears to be in Alabama.
