Enoch Richardson and wife Mary Jane Harris.
He was born around 1760 and died before October 1814 in Jasper Co. GA (newspaper article from the Georgia Journal where Mary is appointed administratrix).
He served in Capt. Thomas Pace unit during the Rev. War per Georgia Citizens of the Am. Revolution by Davis.
Mary Jane is the daughter of Benjamin T. Harris and Sarah.
I am descended through their son James A. Richardson who married Rachel Eliazabeth Young. They went from Georgia to Louisiana to Missouri to Texas. James died in Missouri and Rachel died in Texas. Trying to locate document that shows James is the son of Enoch. I know the probate shows James' sister Rebecca.
Rachel Elizabeth Young's father may be Jacob Young.
Thanks for any help, Sarah Forsythe Warren.

Court of Jul 3, 1815. Letters of guardianship were granted to Mary Richardson on Eliza Richardson, orphan and minor or Enoch Richardson. At the same time, Mordecai Shackleford gave his bond for $500.00. A Negro girl, Lucy, property of Enoch Richardson, was ordered sole for the benefit of the heirs.
Then, at the Court of Sept. 7, 1818, a petition was entered by John M. Patrick, security to the estate of Enoch Richardson, deceased on the grounds that Mary Richardson had not made a due and legal return and that "said Mary is waiting the said estate".

On Jan 10, 1817, George Richardson gave a receipt for his share of the estate. Also, Jurden Gay, in behalf of his wife, Rebecca. Receipts for estate
This is the last record in Jasper County that I found of them. So, Mary had a daughter under the age of 14 years (Eliza), for whom she was appointed guardian. The other two children were Rebecca and George.
Still searching.

Enoch Richardson drew in the 1805 Land Lottery while a resident of Richmond County. This drew included land in Baldwin County (districts 1-5); Wayne County (districts 1-3) and Wilkinson County (districts 1-5).

For this reason, I searched Richmond records but was unable to locate anything. Apparently, the son, James, was married well before 1790, as I was unable to locate this marriage in any Georgia county. Here are some early Richardson marriages.

Conclusion This concludes my research in Georgia. It appears that there were a number of older children when he died (already married and perhaps moved away). That is why only two were listed in the receipts of the estate. Hoped that this helps you.
