Wade, Edward was b. ca 1730 d. 11/1790 Greene Co., Ga. m. Le tty Martin 10/15/1768 Charlotte Co., Va., the daughter of Abraham Martin. His daughter, Anne Wade was b. 1760/1770 d. Madison Co., Ga. m. John Williams, his first wife 11/ /1788 Greene Co., Ga. He was the son of ROBERT WADE, SR. who d. 1770 Halifax Co., Va. and whose wife was Elizabeth.

Warlick, W. H. sold 150 acres of his land (about a half mile from Canton, in Cherokee County) to the ordinary of Cherokee to build a pauper's home. The place had a large two-story house and a number of outbuildings. About 75 acres was cleared and cultivated, part of which was on the creek, and the copper mine branch running near the house. Walton, Thomas, Sr. (1739-1806) lived near the mouth of the Broad River, Lisbon, Liberty County. Ref: Wilkes County Cemeteries by Nell and F. M. Newsome.
Warthen, Richard (1742-1806) came from Virginia to Georgia, bringing with him his wife, three daughts and two sons, William Burrow Warthen (1762-1822) and Elijah Warthen (1771-1826). He received land grants in Wilkes and Washington Counties. Ref: A History of Washington County by Washington County Historical Society.
Weatherford, Charles living in Indian lands, "is an unworthy character and unfit to be in their land, and the Chiefs had determined he should leave their land, but in consideration of his family on the Indian side, and of a promise made by Opoie Hutke of Ocheubofau, ... that he will endeavor to make him reform..." Wimpy, William E. was born in Dahlonega, Ga. soon after the Civil War. Most of his youth was spent in Atlanta where he received his early education. In 1879 he went into railroad construction, and after ten years, retired to go to Savannah where he engaged in the mercantile business. Here he formed the Retail Merchants' Association and introduced many methods of advertising which were then novel in the South. In 1902 Wimpy came to Atlanta and introduced a plan for the widening of Peachtree Street, from Ellis to Baker Streets. Ref: Atlanta Georgian, 12/13/1909.
