Underwood, J. T. (left)was born in 1825, resided in Johnson Co., Ga. He served as a Confederate Soldier in the Johnson Grays, 14th Ga. Regiment, Army of Northern Virginia, serving bravely four years and was never wounded. His son: D. R. Underwood was b. 1843, was also a Confederate Veteran, having served in Co. B, 12th Ga. Battalion, Gen. John B. Gordon's command. He was twice wounded, receiving his last wound on the evening before the surrender. Resident of Wrightsville, Ga. Upson, Frank L., Judge, one of Lexington's oldest citizens, died. He was born in Lexington, age 73. Leaves wife and large family. The Constitution, Atlanta 1/22/1886
