Peel, William Lawson was b. in Webster Co., Ga. In 1876 he came to Atlanta from Americus to work in the Bank of the State of Georgia as cashier. Colonel Peel worked as cashier, vice president and president. He was president of the Atlanta Horse Show Association and of the Music Festival Association. He was a member of the Georgia Sons of the Revolution, the Capital City Club, Atlanta Automobile Association, Piedmont Driving Club and Atlanta Athletic Club. He was a member of the staffs of Governor Terrell and Governor Hoke Smith. He resided on Peachtree St. in Atlanta, having built his residence in 1879. Ref: Atlanta Georgian, 12/23/1909.

Plant, I. C. was b. 2/27/1814 in New Haven, Connecticut, m. 1st, Charlotte Walker of Boston, Massachusets, 2nd, Elizabeth Hazlehurst of Glynn Co., Ga. Elizabeth was b. 1819 in Ga. The family lived at Macon, Ga. I. C. Plant was educated at Columbia College in South Carolina, and in 1831 was appointed Agent of the Marine Bank of Georgia, which was located in Macon. In 1865, he was the first President of the First National Bank of Macon. Also, that year, he organized the banking house of I. C. Plant & Son.
